Kylemore College Krew (KCK) Radio – March 2010

KCK Radio is proud to present a special hour long feature to mark the 75 year anniversary of the City of Dublin VEC Sports and Cultural Council. This programme charts the journey through the 75 year history of the SCC and includes interviews with; Jim Cooke, a retired teacher and historian who has been commissioned to produce a 75th anniversary book and Vincent Sammon, retired director of the Prison Education Service. The Kylemore College Krew also spoke to Jacinta Stewart SCC President and CEO of CDETB, Eithne Davey SCC Chairperson & Jim O Dea SCC Secretary about the internal workings of the SCC committee. Contributions on the Sports and Cultural activities of the SCC come from Joe Vaughan, Richie Barrett, Jim O Connell, Frank Allen & Stephen Perry. The students involved in the making of this programme were Troy Curtis & Luke Smyth (1st year) and Jessica Curley, Aaron Murphy & Keith Swaine (2nd year). The advertisement for Mary J Styles fashions in Ballyfermot was created by students from transition year class 401 and was the winning project in a radio advertising module undertaken by these students this year. We hope you enjoy this very special KCK programme marking a milestone for a unique organisation in the Irish education system.
