DUBLIN 1 - 10 WICKLOW 1 - 8
In a thoroughly enjoyable Leinster Vocational Schools quarter final played at Alfie Byrne Park, Clontarf, Dublin finished strongly to deny an excellent Wicklow side on a 1 – 10 to 1 - 8 score line to qualify for the provincial semi final.
An enthralling opening period saw little between two evenly balanced sides, and they went in at the interval on level terms after star Wicklow midfielder, Piaras Mac Suibhne, had blasted over from a penalty on the stroke of half-time. Wicklow 1 - 3, Dublin 1 - 3.
On the resumption, the introduction of Adam Rodgers brought a greater fluency and incisiveness
to the Metropolitan attack. In addition to notching up 0 - 3 himself, the super sub brought the best out of his fellow attackers, Tom Devlin and Marcus Prunty, midfielder, Graham Hannigan, and defenders, Cormac Flynn and Tom Quinn.
Although Wicklow, with Padraic Kelleher, Padraig Geoghegan, Adam Conway and Mac Suibhne fought gallantly to lead by 1 - 8 to 1 - 6 entering the final quarter, Dublin found their rhythm, and points from Devlin, Prunty and Rodgers sealed a hard earned victory and a place in the penultimate round.

DUBLIN 2 - 7 OFFALY 0 - 12
Dublin are through to the Leinster Vocational Schools Gaelic Football Final by virtue of a powerful second half performance, which saw them turn a 0 - 9 to 0 - 5 interval deficit into victory over Offaly by the narrowest of margins at Dunganny on Saturday, January 7.
Offaly dominated the opening period and with full forwards Eognan Lowry and Joe Maher leading
a slick attacking division increased their lead with a Maher point on the resumption, and looked set
for a final spot.
The Metropolitans were not to be denied, however, and when centre- forward, Shane Hickey, finished to the net in the 38th minute following a quick upfield surge, the fat was really in the fire. Although the Midlanders hit back with a Lowry point from a free, the Dubs rallied, yet again, for Hickey, to put the sides level with a superb goal, following excellent play from Ashley Lenihan, Darren Murphy, Tom Devlin and Adam Rodgers.
Points from Rodgers and Murphy from a free, assured the Dublin team of a place in the provincial
decider, despite a last gasp effort from substitute, Callum Stewart, for the Offaly lads.
