SCC PLC Battle of the Bands - Monday, 7th December 2009

PLC Battle Bands 2009A hugely successful SCC Band Competition was held at the Academy, Abbey Street on Monday 7th December. The new venue, Academy 2, added greatly to the prestige of the event. The standard was very high with ten bands from BCFE, Kylemore College and The Pathways Project.

Overall winners were Pyramid Hill (fronted by Eoghan Ryan), The Funtones (Colin Kelly, Nicholas Fitzgerald and Co.) and Preacher (lead singer Alison Daniel), all from BCFE! It is hoped that one of these groups will represent PLC Music at the SCC 75th concert in Liberty Hall on April 22nd.

Special mention should also go to The Participants, first time performers from The Pathways Project. Their song ‘Wise Up’ was one of the highlights of the night.
